Digital tourist information screen at The Burton at Bideford

The new screen was financed by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the TDC Regeneration Fund

This week we unveiled a new digital information point for tourists and visitors to the gallery.

The Burton is Bideford’s Tourist Information Centre, and the Digital Screen Project was conceived as a way to modernise and improve our existing tourist information service with a greater emphasis on digital promotion of events and activities in Bideford and the surrounding area via the Discover Bideford website.

The project was part-funded by the UK Government, with £1,500 received through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, while £1,000 for the materials/build/software and installation costs came from the Torridge District Council Regeneration Fund.

We will also be launching a dedicated volunteer programme in early 2025 to help us expand our tourist information offering. If you are interested in volunteering please email info@theburton.org for more details.
