The Last Resort is a another wonderful photographic documentary book from Martin Parr. It depicts his trips to New Brighton during 1983-1985. Including two of the hottest summers when New Brighton drew unusually large crowds during weekends and bank holidays. A great photographic record of the resort bursting with life, people, food, entertainment and inevitably the rubbish people leave behind. In 2008 The Last Resort was chosen as one of ‘1000 Artworks to See Before You Die’ in The Guardian newspaper.
