Tides of Change – A celebration of 60 years of Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty designation.
In 2015 the North Devon Coast AONB provided grant funding to support Beaford in digitising their archive of 1970’s and 1980’s photographs taken by James Ravilious and Roger Deakins. This archive of photographs have helped North Devon Coast AONB in understanding how the landscape has changed along the coast and how effective the designation has been in protecting it. This book contains the then and now images, with a small narrative allowing the reader to judge for themselves how the landscape has been shaped by development, land management, coastal erosion and countryside conservation.
